Trailer Thursday (1)

Jeremy of the blog Novel Thoughts has a weekly post called Trailer Thursday.  Jeremy’s trailers are mostly movie trailers, and I’m sure I’ll include some book-related movie trailers, but I’m going to focus on great book trailers.  My students love watching them, as do I.  Plus, some simply deserve more exposure!

For my first Trailer Thursday I’m going to highlight a trailer for Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys.  This isn’t a “traditional” trailer, but it’s powerful and informative.  Before watching this I knew I wanted to read Sepetys’ book, but now I NEED to read her book.  Let me know what you think after watching 🙂

  1. D’awww I love how worked up she got at the end of it! 🙂 I want to read this really badly now.

  2. Lordy McGordy, you highlight such wonderful books here! How do you find them so early? 🙂 I was lucky enough to read an advance copy of BETWEEN SHADES OF GRAY and it is hands-down my personal choice for the Newbery Award. Lina Vilkas will live with me forever, the way Anne Frank is always there.

🙂 I think I found this video on Twitter when Paul Hankins and Gae were talking about it. You really are lucky to have read the ARC! I showed my classes this video and they’re really excited to read it. We had just finished reading NIGHT when I found this, so it was cool to be able to hear about a similar story that not many know about. It sparked a great conversation!

I love comments!
