Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone has had a very festive, merry and safe Christmas today!  I’m very thankful that I was able to spend last night and today with my husband and family.  This is the first Christmas in at least five years that everyone’s been healthy 🙂  We ate too much (but oh-so-delicious) food, relaxed and enjoyed each other’s company.

I received Youth in Revolt by C.D. Payne and an additional copy of Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson from my brother.  My husband gave me a nice gift card to Barnes & Noble and my book club gave me a great gift card to Borders.  I see some book purchases in my future!  Did anyone else get some cool books as gifts?  Or maybe gave some great books as gifts?  I’d love to hear about it!

Now that the holidays are winding down I’ll get my blog back on track.  I have a couple reviews lined up, another book trailer for Thursday and some very cool author interviews coming up!

  1. Schuyler Esperanza says:

Oh, TWISTED is one of my favorite reads! YOUTH IN REVOLT is a good one, too–I think there’s a movie of it out, or on its way.

I gave gift cards to my local indie, as I do every year, but another thing I like to do is find books throughout the year at Goodwill or Friends of the Library book sales. This year, I gave my friend with three cats an older humor book called HOW TO LIVE WITH A NEUROTIC CAT, which we chuckled over. A cute new local gift shop had some vintage Little Golden books the size of my palm, which I also gave to my book geek pals. One friend read the book I gave her, BABY FARM ANIMALS, aloud, and I have a funny picture of her acting it out. 🙂

    • Mrs. Andersen says:

YOUTH IN REVOLT came out as a movie last year. I’m going to read it first and then watch the movie 🙂

I love the idea of the book HOW TO LIVE WITH A NEUROTIC CAT haha. My husband and I have two cats, so I’m sure we’d like that book too! Thanks for sharing 🙂

    • I have the book ‘How to live with a neurotic dog’ they’re quite hilarious. 😀

  2. I got The Hunger Games series, Crescendo, Fallen and Torment, Breathless and one or two more I can’t remember off the top of my head lol and a Borders gift card 🙂 Glad you had a happy Christmas

I love comments!
