The Persnickety Snark started a blog challenge focusing on different “greats” in Y.A called “The Persnickety Snark FIVE challenge“. Like usual I’m joining the party late, but that’s okay because this is a fun challenge! I probably won’t complete all the posts, but I’ll certainly complete a few.
Today’s post is about my favorite covers of 2010. When I first gave thought to this post, Mindi Scott’s cover for Freefall and Andrea Cremer’s cover for Nightshade came to mind immediately. The other three took some thought because there are so many fab covers!
What are your favorite covers from 2010?
3. Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl- This cover is both pretty and eerie. I love the color of blue used, the font, and the worn stairs which I’m assuming lead down to the Lunae Libri.
5. Nevermore by Kelly Creagh- I like the models on this cover, but they really aren’t the reason I like it so much. What caught my eye are the pieces of Varen’s journal written all over the cover. It adds much-needed dimension. **Note to teachers and librarians- If you laminate your hardcover book jackets, I found out the hard way that the handwriting will disappear after the cover is laminated. Not surprisingly, I was pretty bummed.**
