Top Books Read in January

One of my goals for 2011 is to keep track of what my kids are borrowing from my class library every month.  So far I’m sticking with this goal 🙂

*Note: These are the most popular books my students borrowed and completed in January. Many different titles have been borrowed, but they haven’t all been as popular as these.  Many titles were also borrowed in  January, but my students are still reading them.*

Books of the Month (Borrowed 6-7 times):

Borrowed 4-5 times:

Borrowed 2-3 times:

  1. I have five copies of Speak that I have not been able to keep on my shelf this year. Hush, Hush and Twenty Boy Summer have quickly flown off the shelf as well. My 8th graders have also liked Life as We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer and Across the Universe by Beth Revis. I’m impressed you can track how many times a book is checked out. I can’t keep up with that detail in my classroom!

    • Mrs. Andersen says:

I have a sign out book for my kids to use when they check out a book and sign it back in. I spent some time last night recording in an Excel spreadsheet all the books checked out and back in last month.

Across the Universe hasn’t caught on yet, but I suspect it won’t take much longer 🙂

I love comments!
