In My Mailbox (10)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme sponsored by The Story Siren.  It’s a way for bloggers to share what books they’ve received for review, borrowed from the library, or bought from the store.

For my Students Want to Know feature:

Rival by Sara Bennett Wealer and Memento Nora by Angie Smibert- My students were so excited to receive these books!  Sara sent us a signed ARC along with signed bookmarks.  A couple girls have already read it and are busy writing their interview questions.  Angie’s publicist sent us three ARCs!!  My freshmen have been having a field day reading these 😀  I think four or five of them have read Memento Nora so far.

I bought a couple copies of So Shelly by Ty Roth so my students can read this before sending Ty interview questions.  I just picked these copies up today, which means there will be some excited students tomorrow!

Books I’ve bought:

This has been a week for graphic novels.  Today I went to Borders and bought Artemis Fowl: The Graphic Novel, The Lightning Thief, Coraline: The Graphic Novel, Athena: Grey-eyed Goddess, and Witch & Wizard: Battle for Shadowland.  I hope my kids are as excited as I am!

  1. Ooohhh nice mailbox!! Although Rival is out?!?! How did I miss that? Lol ♥

  2. Great haul this week! So, did your kids enjoy Rival? Desperately want to read it, but trying to decide if I should order it for my nook right away, or wait a few weeks to see if my library will be ordering it.

Will probably get it for my nook LOL

    Have a great week!

They are loving Rival! They’ve compared it to Glee and they’ve also talked about how much they like the characters. I’d probably order it for your Nook 🙂

  3. Almost grabbed “So Shelly” at the book store the other day. It sounds interesting…must go back and buy it. Enjoy all of those fabulous titles.

I might stay up too late tonight to read it before I give my copies to my students tomorrow. It sounds great and I’m excited for my students’ interview with Ty 🙂

  4. I really liked The Lightening Their, although I never read any other books in the series part of me wants to go back and read more. And I loved the movie Coraline, although I never read the book

    • Mrs. Andersen says:

I’ve read the regular novel and really enjoyed it- very creepy! I’ve seen the movie too, so it made sense to get the graphic novel 🙂 Neil Gaiman is an excellent story-teller!

I love comments!
