Huh. I guess I gave If I Stay five stars on Goodreads, but when I think about it now (four years after reading it) I don’t think of it as a five-star book. Has anyone else experienced this?
Anyway, regardless of my feelings about Gayle Forman’s debut, I’m really excited to see this book turn into a movie this August. I know without a doubt that I LOVED the sequel Where She Went. Although right now I’m a little less than thrilled with the actor they chose to play Adam. Do you think they’ll make Where She Went into a movie??
What do you think of the trailer? I’d love to know your thoughts!
Summary (From Goodreads):
Just listen, Adam says with a voice that sounds like shrapnel.
I open my eyes wide now.
I sit up as much as I can.
And I listen.
Stay, he says.
Choices. Seventeen-year-old Mia is faced with some tough ones: Stay true to her first love—music—even if it means losing her boyfriend and leaving her family and friends behind?
Then one February morning Mia goes for a drive with her family, and in an instant, everything changes. Suddenly, all the choices are gone, except one. And it’s the only one that matters.
If I Stay is a heartachingly beautiful book about the power of love, the true meaning of family, and the choices we all make.
