I really enjoyed this one. I read the book and I wonder if you lost something with the audio book since so much of it is in note/email form. To me the point of the story was Bee figuring out who her mother is. For so long so knew nothing about her mother’s past, but she learns little by little and Bernadette gets part of her old self back.

I think it would be okay for mature 8th grade students. There’s violence and foul language, but there isn’t anything sexual in it. I’m always nervous about making recommendations for middle school students because it really depends on the maturity of the student. I would read it first and see what you think. I’d feel comfortable giving it to a freshman at the beginning of the school year. I’m sure there are plenty of middle school students, especially boys, who would benefit from reading this.

This sounds like a very interesting book, in your opinion will it be appropriate for middle schoolers or strictly high school & above?
